In 1956, Mrs. M. Crist Fleming founded TASIS The American School in Switzerland as an experiment in international education. TASIS is now the oldest American boarding school in Europe, with over 20,000 alumni. TASIS aims to prepare students for American colleges and universities around the world while exposing them to European cultures and languages.

Located in the heart of Europe, TASIS provides an outstanding educational program with an international dimension. TASIS offers the International Baccalaureate (IB), the Advanced Placement (AP) Program, and English-as-a-Second Language (ESL) courses to 330 boarding and day students from the United States and approximately 45 other countries in grades 7 through a 13th year (ages 12-18). The curriculum includes an extensive In-Program Travel program and a January Ski Term, when the school relocates for one week to Crans Montana and Verbier.

Located 18 miles southwest of London on a beautiful 35-acre estate of Georgian mansions and 17th century cottages as well as new state-of-the-art facilities, TASIS England combines an excellent academic program with exceptional facilities for art, drama, music, computers, and sports. TASIS also offers an intensive ESL course of study and the Advanced Placement (AP) American college-preparatory program. TASIS England offers its curriculum to 500 day students from nursery through a 13th year (ages 3 - 18) and to 155 boarding students from grades 9 to 13 (ages 14 - 18).
